چکیده

Immunochemical studies of the major density classes established clearly the antigenic heterogeneity of the human plasma lipoprotein system [ 1 -3 ] . Recent chemical investigations have confirmed these earlier findings and demonstrated the presence of six antigenicalty distinct polypeptides designated as A-I,. A-II, C-I, C-II, C-Ill and LP-B* [4 -6 ] . An additional antigenic component detected predominantly in HDL [7-10] has been designated 'thin-line' polypeptide due to its characteristic appearance on double diffusion analyses of HDL with anti-HDL or anti-whole serum. Under such experimental conditions, the 'thinline' polypeptide appears as a characteristic thin precipitin line nearer the antigen well, while the major precipitin band due to LP-A is closer to the antibody well [9, 11]. The occurrence of 'thin-line' polypeptide has also been demonstrated in LDL [11] and

Plasma Apolipoprotein-M (ApoM) Response to a Circuit Resistance Training Program

Apolipoprotein M (Apo-M) is a human novel protein of apolipoprotein classes and highly expressed in liver and kidney tissues. ApoM is mainly associated with high-density lipoprotein (HDL), and act as a chaperone for sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), promotes mobilization of cellular cholesterol, formation of larger-size of pre β-HDL, and a new biomarker in sepsis. The level of apoM in plasma/s...

A lipoprotein characterizing obstructive jaundice. II. Isolation and partial characterization of the protein moieties of low density lipoproteins.

The plasma low density lipoproteins (LDL) in biliary obstruction are characterized almost exclusively by the presence of the immunochemically distinct lipoprotein families, lipoprotein B (LP-B) and lipoprotein X (LP-X). It is suggested that LP-X, with its uniquely high content of unesterified cholesterol and phospholipid, is primarily responsible for the unusual lipid composition of LDL and the...

Molecular characterization of apolipoprotein A-I from the skin mucosa of Cyprinus carpio

Apolipoprotein A-I is the most abundant protein in Cyprinus carpio plasma that plays an important role in lipid transport and protection of the skin by means of its antimicrobial activity. A 527 bp cDNA fragment encoding C terminus part of apoA-I from the skin mucosa of common carp was isolated using RT-PCR. After GenBank database searching, a partial sequence containing a coding sequence (CDS)...

Cardiac up-regulation of apolipoprotein D in a rat model of hypo- and hyperthyroidism

Introduction: Cardiac tissue is one of the organs affected by thyroid hormones imbalances. Apolipoprotein D is a multifunctional glycoprotein that is expressed in various tissues including heart tissue. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism on the level of apolipoprotein D protein in the heart tissue. Materials and Methods: In order to induc...
